Winning competition entry for the masterplan of York Guildhall and riverside. 

 

Drawing on York’s medieval thoroughfares; current dead-ends are re-imagined as streets connecting to a riverfront square.  The extended Guildhall buildings are set back from the river in respect of the historic facades.  The new square becomes part of a wider vision for linking the public realm in the city from the river to the Minster.
